LASUTH wins international award in London

The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, has received the International Quality Crown Award in London for her contributions to the health sector.

The Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Dr Wale Oke, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Ikeja, Lagos State.

He spoke on the sideline of the 19th LASUTH Nurses Annual Conference.

Oke said the hospital bagged the award at the annual International Quality Crown Convention that took place on Nov. 23 and 24 in London.

According to him, the award is given by a group called the BID Group One, an international organisation dedicated to performance quality, innovation and excellence.

He said, “BID is an international organisation that goes all over the place to look at private companies, organisations and hospitals. I think health was recently added.

“Fifty-eight countries were inspected and 80 institutions were awarded.

“They have specific criteria on quality and service delivery to the patients. They have a group that goes around accessing each institution.

“LASUTH is the only hospital in Nigeria that won the award for immeasurable contribution to the business world, for high standing and professionalism demonstrated by prestigious performance for excellence and innovation in the gold category.
